Sunswift 7 breaks world record

It’s not every day that your work writes a page in the Guinness World Records! Recently, the Sunswift Racing 7 became the world's fastest electric vehicle (EV) over 1000 km on a single charge, making it the most efficient EV to ever take on the challenge!

This cutting-edge vehicle is covered front to back with high efficiency, low weight solar cells and glides on hubs machined in Sorensen Product Lab, on our 5 axis Okuma Australia Pty Ltd MU400 under the close supervision of our prototype development team.

"This is amazing, incredible. Wow. The whole year has been leading up to this point... To be honest, we had our doubts whether we were going to be able to achieve it, so to come here and do what we set out to do is just the most incredible feeling. I’m sure those sentiments are shared amongst the whole team. " said team principal Richard Hopkins

The Sunswift Racing 7 is not a production car, so sadly, you won't be able to buy on at your local dealer; rather, the car is a prototype test vehicle designed to demonstrate to the industry what is possible, made by the extremely smart makers at UNSW in partnership with Sorensen Engineering.
